Continuing professional development

Staying relevant is the work

Curiosity is a discipline, not a mood. Two decades of deliberate development — in teaching methodology, supervision, digital practice, futures thinking and AI — keeps the curriculum current and the teaching honest.

The commitment

Never stop being the student

When Dr Frazer started teaching in 2006, PowerPoint was cutting-edge. She now experiments with AI prompting, augmented reality and immersive simulation — not because the technology demands it, but because staying curious keeps the teaching alive.

Development is deliberate rather than incidental: formal qualifications in the craft of teaching and supervision, industry certification that keeps the digital marketing curriculum honest, and sector immersion that carries current practice straight back into the classroom.

What she learns is shared — through departmental presentations, mentoring of colleagues, and curriculum revisions that follow within the same year.

"I see it as my responsibility to be a conduit between cutting-edge practice and academic learning."

— Dr Mariette Frazer
